I have found it annoying to trace the upgrage path of some units so I put it all down on a chart. Some of the upgrade paths are no brainers such as tank to modern armor and some are long such as warrior to mechanized infantry.

I have not confirmed this...but i think it also has to be in range of a city that has the resource needed for the unit. Knights require horses. If the unit you are upgrading is in range of city that is not connected to your trade network which connects it to horses then you cannot upgrade it...

I just can't wait to see how drastic the change in starting strategies will be. Most of the starting strats for CivIII focused on the exact things that CivIV seeks to curb. Rapid expansion being the biggest. It is indeed a brave new world (Civ) that we entering.

That is exactly how I came across Civ 1. It inspired me to get a job while in grade nine and buy a computer all to play the game non stop at home. :D

The release date in Canada at EB is the 25th but the game ships for the States and can take a day or two to get here. That is what I heard from my local EB shop last Wednesday.

I have pre-ordered from EB here in Canada. They say it might be the 26 or 27 when they receive the game. So even if other stores here have it cheaper or sooner I will wait. I can start playing after my last day of work for the week and not be interrupted for at least 36 hours. :cool:
