I'm still here - just haven't had much time recently. I will wait a while until I vote. On the subject of Ireland, I agree that we should return it to the Khan. I'll post more later.
True, most of his land is in Scandinavia, which isn't exactly the best land on the map, but it's still pretty good, with a lot of resources. And he has some land in Europe as well. The main reason I want him gone (or at least far out of the way) is because if we leave him there, it's...
Because if we take Ragnar's land, it'll be much more profitable to us than if we just peacefully coexist with him. It will take a bit of investment but it will pay off.
I suppose in the unlikely event that ilduce decides to rejoin the game, it would be easier to say that he had escaped/been freed from prison instead of resurrected from the dead.
I really don't see how capturing Catherine and demanding ransom for her would improve ilduce's relations with Russia.
@ LH: Does this mean that if Russia defeats us in the AR-style battle, they can gain our territory, and vice versa? Also, should we still PM you orders for units to raise for...
Is it possible for us to do anything to affect the AR before the actual fighting occurs? Such as, for instance, doing something to hinder the transporting of Russian soldiers?
I must have missed this earlier:
I don't want to prevent you from playing the game completely; I just meant that if you're incapacitated, you can't do things like sabotage or terrorist attacks.
Great update as always, LH. Good to see we are regaining some control over the situation.
There's an easy solution to that - we don't kill Ilduce, we just confine him in such a way that he is completely incapacitated but not dead, which isn't difficult to do. There are multiple ways to do so.
I love how you can pull an indefinite amount of new characters out of thin air. Hey, what if I have 500,000 relatives who will form an army for me to take over the world?
Ruling the seas is not much of an advantage given that navy does not have much significance in Civ, especially during the time of East Indiamen.
But there are UBs that are much earlier and that means they have been giving you benefits for centuries already. For example, something like the...
Why does it matter? Do we lose anything if we prepare for an attack and it doesn't come?
I view MN as completely different from ilduce; MN is being a "terrorist" just to make the game interesting, while ilduce appears to actually have serious reasons...
I'm betting that Ilduce and his men are waiting somewhere (Area 52?) to ambush Athers and co. and take Catherine...
Or I could be entirely wrong and he's planning to do something completely different, but that's my guess for now...
