I just had someone tell me that the scientific method is irrational despite its proven track record of working. I'm simply baffled. It's possible that I'm being trolled, but at the same time unlikely given the context.

And how do you do this? I'm still suffering from a broken heart. I know I do get too attached to people, and I don't know how to stop that.

I just don't see how it works. I would think that extreme skepticism would be the opposite of faith. It seems more like you're just hedging your bets if you're a Cartesian skeptic and a theist.

Decartes' point was to start out in a state of extreme skepticism and see where it led him. It could conceivably lead somebody to the conclusion that there is a God and that He's worthy of our praise and devotion and what not. Whether the logic leading to that conclusion is good logic is something best not discussed here. I suppose you could convert to Christianity in hopes of meeting Descartes in Heaven so you can ask him about it.

I just wasted a whole hour looking for online services that would make me a custom SPHERICAL tree ornament where I send them an image, and they plaster the image on the ENTIRE sphere, but apparently, no such service exist. [pissed]

I really wanted a sci-fi planet ornament.
