How many time zones does the US have

This is sort of a little poll (actually my first here.

) just to see if everyone knows how many time zones the US has.

And a change of pace from the political off-topic threads.

I'm not sure. There are four on the mainland, and then I believe the Alaska/Hawaii time zone. Making a total of 5.

There are six anyway. Hawaii and Alaska are seperate zones.

7, beside the main allaska one, there is the bearing TZ to the west and a strip of the Yukon one between pacific and Alaska zones.

Ok, I should have waited until I had my first cup of coffee of the day before taking part in any polls. I'm FROM the states I got it wrong. I only was thinking about the 4 mainland time zones and completely forgot about the other two. Better make my next cup extra strong!

You're not going to be able to do that in the US on a scheduled flight from East coast to West coast. The best you will do is to arrive about an hour later local time.

Working time, food time, Civ time and bedtime.
