So finally, for all the marbles, here's a contest that pits newbies against veterans, gameplay against history. I always like the Mod/Scenario of the Year contest because these are, in a sense, the culmination of everything else in the forum - the maps, the graphics, the units, and even the tutorials and utilities - and puts all of that together into a new thing, a gameplay experience that we can all share together. It's really sweet until the first of many bug reports rolls in...

(I have to admit, too, that I also like doing the little title cards for these every year.)

So here are our brave nominees for Mod/Scenario of the Year: (Click on the titles to see the threads)

Unit-Mania for CivIII Conquests by Kestrel 18

"A redesign of my old Civ2 - ToT "Original Plus / Unit-Mania" Modpack which adds in a large number of extra units for Civ III Conquests as well as extra Improvements, Governments, Specialists and various tweaks."

American Independence War 1775 - 1783 by Hunterkiller

"....a very detailed and historic accurate scenario about the war between the American Alliance (American Colonists & Vermont) and the British Alliance (Great Britain, Iroquois, Odawa & Shawnee). (To do this), ..I reworked a 12 year old scenario from El Justo & viper275, which was - as far as I know - never completely finished and officially released..."

Bronze & Iron by register

"..Covers the period of time from 1800BC to the Wars of the Diadochi and the beginning of the Roman domination around 1st century BC. My aim was to design a mod where I can play all major Mediterranean civilizations from Bronze Age and Early Iron Age as the one of the most interesting and diverse urban civilizations in their beginnings."

Khartoum, Sudan Wars 1883-85 VERSION 1.0 by Thrust123

"This mod... is the result of a life long interest/obsession for those Sudan Wars, which started when I first saw the film Khartoum (1966) at an early age. If you have an interest in that period, I think you will enjoy this mod."

That's the whole Shebang folks! Happy voting!
