Sorry for the necropost, but I just want to thank AlanH for the solution. Deleting that line really solved the problem for me as well.

I had the same problem, and this solution worked for me too...maybe this should be stickied?

I didn't bother sticking it, as the BUG team were going to update the released version to include this fix.

Sadly, this line removal didn't do anything for me. Trying to load NextWar gives me this problem.
