I've done that, as well as accidentally having Hell Terrain show up around one of my core cities, and then having to go find life mana ASAP because suddenly, demons everywhere around it.

But USUALLY it just summons a whole bunch of t3 dudes who I use to wreck the nearest enemy. Unless the chances are heavily weighted for you to get the great person, I wouldn't use it.

Okay I have never played the Illian so forgive my ignorance...

Occasionally I see Storm systems on the map damaging units that walk under them and changing the terrain below them to snow and tundra. Is that an effect/spell from the Illian race? Is there anything I can do to stop it or make it go away? Is that the "Snowfall" you mentioned?

Those are blizzards. Illian priests can move them around, but not create them.

I think they just spawn randomly in snowy areas or somesuch.

They spawn after one of the Illian rituals.... I believe the one that freezes the land.
