Imperium OffTopicum VII

Ethiopia both supports your claims and agrees to an open border/ free trade agreement with you, may your continued friendship and support last a thousand years.

Both Peurto Rico and the South part of Cuba has been claimed by the Republic.

NCR will be more than happy to open our borders with our friends to the south. Let the friendship last 1000 years!

AA has a point :D

Nedim I am just pointing out that you still need to add NCR to the country list on the 1st page.

NWACE-Laotian Nation, we accept your gracious offer. We also would be wondering if your nation would mind to sign a Defensive pact with us where if one of us is declared war on, the other declares war on the attacker. Send me a message in private if you accept.

More details to come, but starting claims are:

Federal Republic of Kiev

Kiev considers itself the rightful successor to the countries of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. They are governed by a President (currently Ivan Chukov).

Other than that, much of what could be said about the former Ukraine can be applied to Kiev.

Uh, Olaf, I think Dom3K's starting in that area.

EDIT: Never mind, he's up north in St. Petersburg.

Get the heck out of Russia.

Domination, anyone can be where they want. If anyone says get out of here or there he will feel the wrath of the GM.

*Insert Russian Joke Here*

In Soviet Russia, Dommy Dogpiles YOU!

In Tsarist Russia, this joke doesn't work!

In Kievan Russia, Petrograd's your Friend!

That land is in my sphere of influence (Russia) and I'm telling him he'll be on thin ice (Likely to get attacked) if he goes there. I wasn't trying to literally take the role of the GM and tell him to leave. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I know, Im just saying its better if people start in close proximity.

If he had started in Ukraine or something that it would have been fine, but to start right next to me...

I'm just saying if he gets attacked, he's really asking for it. He's on a thin leash.

If you want to discuss this as a GM, I'd be willing to do so in PM, but all I will say in this thread is that threatening someone is a legitimate strategy in IOT.

The Federal Republic of Russia

Type of Government: A unicameral Federal Republic. Voting is by proportional representation. Russia has a Tzar, who is merely a figurehead leader with no real power.

The four most major parties are the Social Democrats, the Socialists, the Federalists, and the Libertarians. A basic description of each.

Social Democrats: What did you expect here? The center-left party, although there is some variance in the party politics. The Social Democrats support Universal Healthcare, high taxes on the rich, high amounts of welfare, exc. On the social side of the coin, there is some variance, but the party is generally socially liberal, supporting gay rights, pro-choice views, legalized marijuanna, exc. but are not extreme in the area of social liberalism.

Socialists: Socialists are far more radical, and far less popular, they support total abolition of the capitalist state. They tend towards the authoritarian on social issues, but there are some in the movement, known as "Libertarian socialists" who wish to combine the social ideas of the Libertarians with the economic ideas of the socialists.

Federalists: The center-right, socially conservative party. Think US Republican party. Nothing really to see here. They claim to be pro-life, opposed to gay rights, opposed to marijuanna.

Libertarians: The Radical party of the Free. They are the only party to support the right to bear arms, and they support libertarian social ideas in general. They are economically varied from center-right to far right.

Minor parties include the Greens, Communists, Fascists, National Socialists, Tzarist Party (They want the Tzar to actually have power) the Russian Nationalist Party (Want to fight to stretch Russia's borders all the way from Poland to Siberia) and other very minor parties. I'd prefer not to put a full description, but its self explanatory.

Also note that the Russian parties don't form a "Government" per say, they do elect a Chancellor to break ties, but that's it. Normally each individual vote is taken separately.

Now, as for current representation in the Parliament:

Libertarians: 31%

Social Democrats: 29%

Socialists: 19%

Federalists: 16%

Green Party: 2%

Russian Nationalists: 1%

Communists: 1%

National Socialists: .5%

Tzarists: .5%

Foreign Policy: Generally interventionist, willing to build alliances, but always on poor terms with anyone inside of historical Russia (This does not extend to the Soviet Union, though the Russian Nationalists would like it to.)

Fiscal Policy: Depends who is in power. Currently a centrist policy has been brookered between the Libertarians and Social Democrats, which has for the most part left the Socialists and Federalists a disorganized opposition who are grasping at straws.

Social Policy: Currently moderate, somewhat depends on state. Abortion is a hot debate in Russia, and its legality depends on state.

Religion: Officially the Russian Orthodox Church. Other religions are allowed, but the Orthodox receive government funding, although the Socialists and Libertarians oppose this.
