MadDjinn's Deity LP - Venice

Building some farms on plain tiles should be preferable. In my games there were times when the pop was really high and I didn't have enough specialist slots so some citizens eventually end up working plains. Better to work 2f 1h tile then 1f 1h tile, until another specialist slot becomes available. Trading posts also come to mind here..

no objection to it, but I rarely use it due to promotions being far more useful. I sometimes then forget to use it when I need to leave units behind.

Fair enough. I guess it's easier to spot things when you're only watching a youtube video as opposed to the actual one playing (I don't have to make any of the hard decisions, I just yell at my computer screen a lot :p).

I bet the allies would have better success during Operation Market Garden if they had invisible Paratroopers ;)

Since you seem to have an abundance of great generals, have you thought about building a citadel on the mountain pass between Quebec City and Lintz (after you take Quebec City again)?

ETA: Or a citadel on the open space that the Huns want to settle on so they go home :p

I've been lurking around these forums for about a year now, but decided to register up just say a big thank you MadDjinn! I made the move to immortal now for good (although it seems easier than it was in G&K) thanks to your lp's.

This Venice one is something, I cringed when Boudicca decided to join in the fun! Good luck, you have your work cut out.

One last thing, wouldn't a couple of workers (on that coast) have made it impossible for the Huns to land and settle there? I think it's a shame to waste the privateers on coast guard duty.

yeah, a couple of workers would do it, but I only had a few and they were busy.

How do you scroll through air units like that?

Cycle without having to manually click on each unit (obviously, I can't tell if you use the mouse or keyboard to do it since I can only see the screen).

Hi MadDjinn I really enjoy watching your LP's and it has really improved my play.

Im my diety games though the AI is pretty much always ahead and actually gives a "real" fight. I'm a little dissapointed about Arabia,
they are so far ahead and have no muskets, no real army to counter you - the irony he declares war on you lol.
Same for Austria - she is actually already in the modern era, has flight and at least 14 oil and modern infantry/machineguns/anti-aircraft
but no bombers/fighters? Ok you got fighters too, but I've liked to see a equally fight where you counter some bombers.

I played a similar map with Venice, took autocracy too, but struggled with the revolutionary wave... I guess my tourism wasn't high enough. Also
I took out a neighbour(Ottomans) with Xbows and kept his capital and another city. Persia became a runaway on the other continent though, conquered most of it
and by the time I had my fleet up(frigates) he already had like 20 bombers  any advice how to deal with that?

"There's somethin' holy over here, 'n yer not allowed havin' it!"
- MadDjinn, as a redneck Atilla, regarding a razed Celtic city site. (Venice LP, Episode 12)

I wish to add my thanks, BTW.. I've been watching since the beginning, and your videos have made me play a much tighter game. And they're pretty darn-tootin' entertaining. Cheers!

You could easily take their cities on your continent and leave them both to the one city they have on the other continent.
