    Stealing Tech

Just wondering what influences your ability to steal techs from other Civs? I did it for the first time last night. I was able to get 3 techs in one turn, Steel (no pun intended) , Refining, and Mass Production from Persia. I'm guessing this isn't a common thing, otherwise you'd be better...

Trading strategic resources to the AI.

I'll trade resources to get tech / cash per turn .... I'll only trade a good resource like oil or saltpeter if the civ getting the resource might be fighting another civ I want destroyed. You might be able to trade the tech and demand a military alliance. You can attack the civ to start...

    Monarchy: End of Game

Can you offer germany something to get them to agree to a mutual protection pact? You might be able to get them to spend lots of resources on fighting, while you concentrate on the space race.... I'd kill the Zulu, if germany calls for a vote, you'll probably lose. If they aren't there, you...

    Monarchy: End of Game

Can you quickly destroy the 3'rd civ? If you get rid of them, then Germany probably won't have a UN vote ...... I'd stick to building the Space Ship, if your are ahead production wise. Fight the other civ to try to get a great leader and use it to make a part.

    Production vs Population ?

What size are everyone's cities getting to at the end of the game? I know it depends on the skill levels, but a 25 to someone might be small to others? My last game I don't think I got higher than 33 or 34.

    Government Order?

I usually grab monarchy and stay with it. I'm not a huge warmonger, but I like to go all in when I fight. Monarchy is good for holding higher numbers of troops, plus you can just go for non-gov techs and plow through the other cives.

    A Question of points

Build lots of cities, let them grow in size, and get whatever wonders you can. If you go to the cultural advisor, you can see the score in game there.

    War Strategy ?

Great Info, thank for all that! Do you know where that culture filp calculator is? Is there a way to declare war before attacking? I usually just walk up to a city and take it over.

    War Strategy ?

I usually pick scientific or industrious civs, but I like to be fairly militaristic. I'll usually try to capture all of the land on my continent, and let the AI remain crowed on the others. When I start a war, I never have enough troops to conquor the whole civ in one campain. I'll capture...

    Tech choices......Monarch or republic???

I prefer Monarchy. I play a very scientific strategy, but I like being able to house a large army. it is a real advantage later in the game to pay to accelerate production. Monarchy seems to save me some cash flow too.

How big a military should I have?

I'd get in there and destroy some of their improvements before I'd attack. Capture some workers too. You'll shut down their production, make the citizens really unhappy, and take away the ease of building re-enforcements.

    Initial Build Strategy

I've taken some advice from this site, and it seems to be working! I thought I'd share some recent success. For my initial build I make 2 warriors, spearman, settler, worker, spearman, settler, settler, warrior, settler, worker. I like to discover the board as quickly as possible, you get...

What is the easiest way to win?

Dominate them. The easiest way for me to win is to establish communication and trade with the neearby civs. Attack the weakest one and take their land. Most of the time I capture their bigger cities, or the ones with good resources, and raze the others. Sometimes the cities I capture flip back...

    Quick Newbie Question

To improve your play, use the best piece of advice that I was recently given. Micromanage your cities. Build 1 worker per city, and DON'T automate them. Look at the stats of the city's tiles and choose the best action (build road, irrigate, build mine) to benefit your city. It will lead to...

    Nastiest Neighbours

I hate the romans. They always seem to get iron working really early and then wander over to pillage my cities.
