I don't feel sorry for them. They released a great game that needs a little bit of TLC AI wise. They got good reviews, and the games on the top of the steam best seller list.
Congrats Devs!
Horse units could use a big big nerf to attacking cities.
This would still make them very useful in the field but you'll need combined arms to take that city.
EDIT: What Andoo said!
Looks like your in great shape. Take 1 dip into freedom maybe to reduce some angry faces or if your getting nice luxuries from city states maybe deeper in patronage social policy route for happyness, fast build a few happy buildings with your gold. If the cities are out of resistance maybe fire...
Because warriors upgrade to swordsmen and then longswords, riflemen, infantry, mech infantry.
Catapults to trebs to cannon to arty
You can have some very nice promotions latter in the game. Infantry that heal on march, Artillery that fires twice a round.
I'll steal any worker I find, city state or major civ. Done early enough and the war will be over without any blood before your worker makes it home many times.
I found that it works better for me if I don't obsess about a sling. Getting balanced early techs seems to go farther most times. Now if a great scientist pops and a sling is within easy reach, then I might. I've been trying to reduce my dependence on city states in preparation for a nerf.
Great Generals: Keep or Golden Age as needed.
Great Scientist: Tech, early academy (if your tech is 18 then an academy just makes sense)
Great Engineer: Wonder or Golden Age
Great Merchant: City State for some cash and a nice big influence boost people seem to forget about the boost.
Great...
The main problem that I have with unit boosting buildings is that I build them when I feel like really getting into war that game...in that case I go honor for 2x experience and find that it is betetr to build units or wonders, so I agree with OP.
