In light of recent events I would like to lower my excitement rating. If that were possible, because it was already zero.
The deliberate omission of the English or British civilization, the largest empire in history which started the Industrial Revolution (while including civilizations like...
Zero.
The game doesn't appeal to me at all due to its complete abandonment of its original ethos to 'build a civilization to stand the test of time'.
Instead it has somehow morphed into 'build a civilization to magically transform into another civilization that may or may not be historically...
Probably not. My interest in the game is currently zero due to the entire civ swapping mechanic.
Mods can do a lot, but they can't fundamentally change a core mechanic of the game.
How would mods even solve the issue?
Just disable civ swapping for everyone? Possibly resulting in tons of...
The whole mechanic contradicts the entire ethos of the franchise.
To build a civilization to stand the test of time.
Instead now we have: "Build a civilization to magically transform into another civilization that may or may not be historically related to them or make sense in general, and...
I am in fact hoping the game does so badly at release the devs have no choice but to either scrap the civ switching mechanic entirely or at least make it optional, maybe in like a game mode.
Zero.
I've never been this disapppointed and less excited in a game ever.
The forced civilization changing mechanic is almost entirely responsible.
Instead of being able to play Egypt or Rome for the entire game and play an alternate history where their civilization never fell, you'll be...
One of the best things about the Civilizations series is the soundtrack. The music in Civ5 and Civ6 in particular has been really beautiful and I love listening to them.
I'd like to know which are your favorite Civilization VI themes.
Here is a poll including all released themes so far...
The trailer had the woman acting as the Queen of Korea at one point (she was wearing the crown of Silla), likely a reference to Queen Seondeok of Silla.
So I guess she'll likely be introduced as leader of Korea. Mongols are likely to be introduced too.
A little note: Gitarja refers to "Indonesia" in her intro, which is very anachronistic and annoying.
Indonesia is derived from Greek, and is not attested until the 19th century. The realm she should be referring to is Nusantara, which is the name of the Malay archipelago used since ancient times.
I'd like to see (in order of preference):
-Mongolia - Genghis Khan
-Tibet - Songtsen Gampo
-Cambodia - Suryavarman II
-Vietnam - The Trung Sisters
-Georgia - Tamar the Great
-Italy - Cavour or Garibaldi
-The Inca - Pachacuti
-Ethiopia - Menelik II
-Samoa - Salamasina
And why not Canada as well...
