I almost always play continents on a standard sized map. Almost always I get 2 large continents that span the entire distance from north to south, with only a 1 tile passage on either end. It's kind of sad, I think a 3 or 4 continent layout would be more interesting.
If you select the city and mouse over the production number it will tell you if it's already benefiting from a power plant. Only helpful if you've completed one nearby though, if you are looking to build them in parallel you need to count the tiles.
Did they change the way trade routes display your tourism modifier, or is that just broken now? Used to be I could look in the trade route screen and see what civs I was getting a bonus from. Now only my internal ones show it. I'm also having really bad performance issues mid-late game, lots...
I usually don't build scouts early either, I use my starting warrior to map out the nearest area. Once I see that I can build a scout in a turn somewhere, I usually crank out 6 or 8 of them in a row and send them out automated. Most of them will die, but who cares.. they'll reveal a lot of the...
Wondering what people have seen when the computer wins, if anyone sees that, and what difficulty? I can honestly say that every time I've lost the game on any difficulty it's been to a culture win. I usually play king, have tried emperor a few times.
Has anyone even seen the AI attempt a...
Oh, that's cool, I thought it meant the travel time between cities was instant. What does the recruit patrons promotion do? I've never figured that one out.
Is there any way to block another Civ from a culture victory besides military action? There are good ways to block the religious and science victory conditions without war, but I don't see anything obvious for culture besides taking the cities.
Right, so not when the game ends at turn 500, when it ends abruptly at turn 384 or whatever. Loading from an autosave is probably the right answer though, it'd be nice if they just put it on the replay screen.
So when you lose a game, how do you tell who won and how? It doesn't say in any obvious way that I can find. Granted, if you are paying attention you'll see it coming, but still, shouldn't the game show you the winner?
I've been using spies to disable the other civs spaceports.. they don't seem to ever rebuild them. I've also never seen them be very aggressive about finishing the mars pieces, I've been way behind on science and come back to win. I've not done it on deity, but that seems to be true up through...
