    How to change civilizations

Nevermind. I've worked it out. Go to world builder, save as a scenario, then start a new game as a scenario.

    How to change civilizations

What I have found is that the best games can be had by allowing the AI to complete turns until mid ancient or classical era, and then taking control of one of the civilizations. I want to select the weakest civilization. How can I change the civilization that I control?

    Diplomat - Negotiator missing

You could maintain the alliance by creating a new unit "tribute caravan". You have a counter for the friendship with the savages, and each caravan you send as tribute gives you a certain amount of turns added to the length of the friendship.

    Diplomat - Negotiator missing

Interesting. How about using the diplomancer unit to make barbarian or neanderthal cities into allies? That means you can move your units through their territory, they do not attack you, etc.

    Changing game options mid game?

Would it destroy my save if I changed the game options mid game in the worldbuilder? For example, enabling diplomatic victory.

    Diplomat - Negotiator missing

Ah! No wonder. Thanks for the quick reply. Re: diplomacy - perhaps there can be a peace bonus to other countries for never starting a war.

    Diplomat - Negotiator missing

It appears that the negotiator cannot be built, even if you have the negotiators hut. Anyone else with this problem?

    Balance Factors

This happens no matter what traits are in effect, or whether no traits are in effect. It also happened in previous versions. My current playthrough is a "slave empire", where basically all my resources are put into the acquisition of slaves through war and capturing barbarians. You are right -...

    Balance Factors

The slaves come with fixed bonuses and penalties. With enough slaves, the bonus/penalties exceed the other factors going on in the economy, and thus your tax rates become irrelevant. Here's how you can simulate the problem. Take an early save game, go into world builder and get yourself 20...

    Balance Factors

It seems that once you have a certain number of slaves, your tax rate has no effect whatsoever on research or espionage rates. The slavery system creates too many knock on effects. Perhaps making a slave add +1 to production, and other types of bonuses as slavery gets more advanced, is the way...

Has the problem with elections not triggering (league of nations, apostolic palace, UN) been resolved?

    Caveman 2 Cosmos

Can we fix the non initiation of the Apostolic Palace, and UN etc elections? Apparently certain setting cause these elections to never take place. At a minimum let us know which setting cause this bug. I went through about a 100 hours on the slowest time setting, only to not have the elections...

    Caveman 2 Cosmos

Have the elections for Apostolic Palace and UN been fixed yet? They don't trigger.

Since the last 4 games I played on various different settings. What version are you playing? By the way, I am playing without diplomatic victory, but with UN/other organizations active as an option.
