I upgraded to 10.5.2 over Memorial Day weekend. Zero crashes so far. It seems Leopard is finally Civ-worthy, at least on my first gen MBP. Does anyone have experiences with 10.5.3?

Yes, 10.4.11 + Vanilla 1.74 is extremely stable for me also, definitely better than 10.4.10. I even stopped saving after every lucky battle outcome. It stands in marked contrast to 10.5.1, extremely UNstable. This is the major reason I'm still in Tiger. Edit: Sorry, I misread. What version...

I think it is mostly the MBPs with the crashing problem. If you have an iMac or PowerMac/MacPro you are probably OK.

My system is a first generation MacBookPro. I am playing Vanilla and it had been pretty crash prone, crashing a few times per week. Sometimes even freezing the computer. After upgrading to 10.4.11 the crashes seem to have stopped. I can't remember the last time it crashed after the 10.4.11...

Good to know they're still working on this. But no mention of the audio-related crashes that are plaguing my MBP. Grrr.

Interesting discussion. Throwing another idea out there. Instead of tying slavery to a tech why not tie it to city or empire size. For example requires a city of size 3, or an empire of size 4.

I finally got control of the U.N. and was able to reverse previously passed resolutions. One at a time. I neglected to save before I captured the U.N. city so I don't know what happens if it is destroyed.

I am trying for my first Emporer Domination victory and U.N. sanctions are killing me. I'd like to run State Property and Police State but U.N. resolutions are preventing me from this. What happens if I destroy the U.N.? Will these resolutions remain in effect? If I manage to get control...

That's a good idea. Wish I had thought of that in my current game. I would add Theocracy is preferred pre-industrial but I would go with free religion post-industrial to fight WW.

Install Patch B. That is most the most reliable one on my MBP, much better than Patch C. I'm not home now so I can't tell you the version number. It still crashes but only a few times a week.

If it says +20% collateral damage does it mean: 1. 20% more units damaged 2. 20% more damage per unit 3. none of the above.
