    Are buildings destroyed when you take a city?

    I HAVE captured National Wonders. This was in Vanilla.

    Leopard = Constant Crashes

    I upgraded to 10.5.2 over Memorial Day weekend. Zero crashes so far. It seems Leopard is finally Civ-worthy, at least on my first gen MBP. Does anyone have experiences with 10.5.3?

    GL in NE or commerce city?

    Well thanks everyone. It seems unanimous. GL (yes Great Library) in the capital followed by NE (produces artists in vanilla). Someone want to loan me some marble? ;)

    GL in NE or commerce city?

    In my current game my capital is a food rich coastal city but no nearby rivers. I plan to build NE here. My second city is near a river (no flood plains but irrigated corn and bananas), has a gold mine, and is the Confucian holy city. This seems like the place to build Oxford and science and...

    Leopard = Constant Crashes

    Yes, 10.4.11 + Vanilla 1.74 is extremely stable for me also, definitely better than 10.4.10. I even stopped saving after every lucky battle outcome. It stands in marked contrast to 10.5.1, extremely UNstable. This is the major reason I'm still in Tiger. Edit: Sorry, I misread. What version...

    Leopard = Constant Crashes

    I think it is mostly the MBPs with the crashing problem. If you have an iMac or PowerMac/MacPro you are probably OK.

    Leopard = Constant Crashes

    My system is a first generation MacBookPro. I am playing Vanilla and it had been pretty crash prone, crashing a few times per week. Sometimes even freezing the computer. After upgrading to 10.4.11 the crashes seem to have stopped. I can't remember the last time it crashed after the 10.4.11...

    New v1.74 Mac Patch Available for Civ4 'Vanilla'

    Good to know they're still working on this. But no mention of the audio-related crashes that are plaguing my MBP. Grrr.

    Mac OS X 10.4.11

    From Think Secret: Apple distributed a fresh build of Mac OS X 10.4.11 to developers earlier this week as the final update to Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger continues to draw nearer to release. The new builds, 8S2159 (Intel) and 8S159 (PowerPC), are two builds newer than the previous seeds, which...

    Wait a minute! (Bronze Working)

    Interesting discussion. Throwing another idea out there. Instead of tying slavery to a tech why not tie it to city or empire size. For example requires a city of size 3, or an empire of size 4.

    U.N. sanctions are killing me

    I finally got control of the U.N. and was able to reverse previously passed resolutions. One at a time. I neglected to save before I captured the U.N. city so I don't know what happens if it is destroyed.

    U.N. sanctions are killing me

    I am trying for my first Emporer Domination victory and U.N. sanctions are killing me. I'd like to run State Property and Police State but U.N. resolutions are preventing me from this. What happens if I destroy the U.N.? Will these resolutions remain in effect? If I manage to get control...

    Theocracy or Free Religion

    That's a good idea. Wish I had thought of that in my current game. I would add Theocracy is preferred pre-industrial but I would go with free religion post-industrial to fight WW.

    problem with crashes

    Install Patch B. That is most the most reliable one on my MBP, much better than Patch C. I'm not home now so I can't tell you the version number. It still crashes but only a few times a week.

    Question Re collateral damage promotion

    If it says +20% collateral damage does it mean: 1. 20% more units damaged 2. 20% more damage per unit 3. none of the above.
