What's your opinion on civ switching?

The poll figures show a split. Yes, those absolutely loathing switching have the relative majority, but the picture shifts, if you group the two top and the two bottom options (ATM, 80:79). Of course, still a split and it is its own sign that even on a place like Civfanatics a considerable...

What's your opinion on civ switching?

Gedemon already released a "Classic Civ" mod as alpha version, which allows to play without civ switching: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/classic-civ.695614/ Another mod ("Enduring Empires") was recently published in the Steam Workshop, heading the same direction (though without the...

    Classic Civ

I will have to give EE a try to make a final verdict, but from what the description indicates I agree with @Shirotora Kenshin that it already seems to go even further in the desired direction. In that case discontinuing this and focussing on YnAMP would be fully understandable. EDIT: Ok, after...

    New Continuity option.

Really? :wow: The changelog fairly clearly states that all of the changes (including new types of units or an increased number) are intended to only apply for the Contigency setting: It may be worth to report any change to Regroup as bug, IMO.

    New Continuity option.

+1. Conserved unit positions, more unit types eligible for takeover and no more numerical limit on the amount of units are enough of a bonus. Getting a free ride with auto-upgrade to the basic unit of the new age feels too much - it makes spamming units in last turns too much of a no-brainer...

Mod Request: More than 8 diplomatic ribbons displayable at the same time?

With the game officially supporting bigger maps I think it is now much more common to exceed 8 opponents and having to use then the arrow to browse through them...which is slightly inconvinient for my taste: Leaving visuals aside (I concede that a prolonged line of ribbons might not look...

    Civilization VII Update 1.2.3 - July 22, 2025

I amazed by the Continuity setting after having experienced my first age transition with it. No more annoying shuffling around of unit positions or commander assignment, investing in an ancient navy much more attractive and more options for doing something relevant with your city production in...

    Civilization VII Update 1.2.3 - July 22, 2025

Just curious: What exactly do you don't like in the Continuity mode?

    Civilization VII Update 1.2.3 - July 22, 2025

You are correct that it is no where explicitly stated, but IMO it is the point you mentioned in combination with those two Your Units will stay where they were in the previous Age, but are upgraded to their new version for that Age. In addition to what was carried over before, you now can...

    Classic Civ

Not sure if 1.2.3 causes it or if it was impacted before, but with this mod active I can't select for more than 8 AI opponents leader&civ ("+"-button is defunct and gives the warning sound/symbol when clicking it): (Note: This does not mean that you can't play with 12 players, as this mod has...

    Civilization VII Update 1.2.3 - July 22, 2025

Contigency setting really seems to mean no more numerical limit on units taken over. And the game now supports 12 players on huge maps by default!

    The patch is live?!

Yes, I can cofirm...downloading starting for me as well. Patch notes/announcement taking some minutes more is not uncommon. I'm pretty sure that @FXS_Sar will soon post something here :)

    Civ VII Developer Update - July 2025 | What's coming in tomorrow's 1.2.3 update!

That (together with the welcome nerf in form of also kept maintenance costs - I tend to drown in Gold at some point in the Exploration age) would be a good change, as it makes building late in age more rewarding.

What's your opinion on civ switching?

I didn't expect the almost perfect 50/50 split here on the forums, but this picture of opinions in a forum called Civfanatics pretty much reinforces the point that it is a divisive change... I'm somewhere in between 3 and 4, with having voted the latter ("don't like, but doesn't prevent me from...

YnAMP - Larger Map, TSL, Continents++ (beta)
