The AI in Civ2 also used Democracy but that was surely not the best choice of governments.

The editor sucks too much to make scenarios. Unless some future patch improves this we will all have to wait for the expansion to come:(

Why do you say Despotism is better for wars than Monarchy? Monarchy seems so much better and in all the civ games the starting government was always junk. I dont see why it would be different here.

Actually, the Trojan War was about getting trees to burn fire to make iron( Do you really think some god gave some girl to some guy;) ) Troy controlled the waterways from the Black Sea and the poor Greeks had not enough burning fuel.

I think that rubber starts in jungle by default but if you clear jungle the rubber _should_ remian.

What type of governments does every one use? It seem you need to choose one and stick with it because those long anarchy times can be quite costly. I tried a few game with Democracy and now im on a game as Communism. Still cant tell which is better. War is tuff with Democracy but in some...

I guess you have never heard of PBEM(Play By E-Mail) or even hotseat.

Many actual cities in real-life have been conquered by other countries and still is an important "cultural" city. Look at Jerusalem or even Paris.

I *think* that when a nation discovers navigation that all their ships can float across the ocean. (Is is all or just caravels?) Also, I have been able to cross the Atlantic with a galley and sometimes it sinks just as its leaving shallow water.
