Well in my NES Russia invaded the Ottomans through the Caucus Mountains in March, so while his invading army outnumbered the Ottomans by 80 divisions the Ottomans held off most of the attacks, because 1 he invaded through mountains and 2 he invaded in the muddy season of March.. Is that the kind of example you wanted :/?
Well there isnt a program for it, depends on various things: orders, terrain, weather, army size, quality of army etc.
