Maybe this should be in the mod section, but I think it would be great if you could use helicopters to transport one foot soldier unit. Would make paratroopers pretty pointless though and also make the "comando" promotion sorta redundent too.
It could just be your computer isn't up to it. I know that for example I can run road to war with little trouble on my desktop, when I tried it on my laptop (which is pretty close to minimum requirements to run the game) the slow down is unbearable.
Just an opinion.
To the best of my knowing you have to take a full load if you have one available (which is a pain I agree) so I guess your best bet is to take the full load and then move the remainder back.
Put me down for Peter Minut as well. As Dalgo mentioned he's available quite early, and that 25% off training units really pays off in a huge way. I also really don't involve much effort if cross production, so I don't get many free specialists that way.
And the guy (can't recall his name...
Off topic yet within the topic; I'm annoyed by the change that made a FP have the same effect regardless of where it was placed.
I understand that perhaps it was broken, as in the game couldn't process a provincial capital, and it needed to be changed just to smooth out the maximum...
I agree fully but I also have the problem that I don't enjoy the game as much after Monarch. I have enough stress at work.:D
I've instituted the "communism house rule" in order not to get an auto win. As in I "have to" research the nationalism branch first. Just like the AI does. I can...
I believe that the commercial trait reduces corruption a bit.Pretty handy with a massive empire. Commercial is in many ways the opposite of the expantionist trait. It's not all that useful in the early eras, but it packs a pretty big punch come the industrial age.
Well you learn something every day. I have never in 5 years of playing this game gotten more then a warrior. That's cool though. I like having cavemen running around.
You folks can keep your fancy pointed sticks and people so lazy they ride horses instead of good old fashioned walking...
I use them a fair bit. They're neato!:goodjob:My usual scheme for an invasion of a new continent involves four carriers chock full o' bombers to soften up a costal town, and two marine armies to invade and capture that bombed out town. Then the tanks and arty get to unload ready to blitz on the...
I have a few friends who play, but both of them prefer civ4. Savages.
However just today I was at my new bosses place, and we were at the computer getting some invoices printed out and what do I see but a Civ 3 disk on his desk.So I casually mentioned it, and he was "Oh my god that game has...
Cavalry is a great game breaking unit. They are truly game breakers until infantry rears it's ugly head. The tank while incredibly powerful is still hard pressed to dislodge a well placed (ie, in a metropolis with plenty of arty) infantry army. Not an army per say, but ya know.
Although I...
Generally I used to be 100% random, but as of late I've been playing games with only one victory condition. So for example in a space race only game I like to ensure that my opponents are all either scientific or industrious, in a culture game religious or a domination game exp/ or mil.
Is it an exploit? By definition yes. You're doing something the AI can't do. I've yet to see the AI loose a battle and ask for a re-do.
That being said; on more then one occasion I've decided that "hmmmm maybe I wasn't ready to invade." and "accidently" hit the load auto save and made three...
For me two that really stand out are The cold war deluxe, and the Vietnam war scenario both by El Justo. He did a great job of using the Civ engine to create what would be worthwhile games in thier own right.
Others I've really enjoyed are escape from zombie island (good silly fun!), world...
