Yeah, I've tried that, but in my latest game, there were only two players. Hard not to notice the list being that short even when I look away. Knowing how many countries there are really changes strategy.
I like to play with a random map, random map size, and a random number of civs, discovering the world (and adjusting my strategy) as I go. I don't want to know how big the world is or how many opponents I'm facing until I've discovered them all. However, two things in particular are acting as...
I'm really liking it so far, especially on a huge map that's randomly generated. There can be empty land masses of significant size (especially if you draw 60%), or you could end up with a single land mass. I LOVE having to adjust my strategy on the fly as I discover more about my World. In the...
So...very long thread with some disappointment. I don't really have time to try to parse through it all, so short question: is it better to patch, or stick with the Bhuric patch?
Can we get a stickied thread with *just* the information posted by people from Firaxis about the plans for patches and updates? In other words, I'm looking for a closed thread into which posts are copied by the mods. For those of us who don't check in here every day, it would be a great...
I'm very much into sports strategy simulations. Front Office Football 2007 is my favorite one. I've run a fansite for that one for five years or so now, where FOF2K7 as well as other games in that genre are discussed. (There are a number of Civvers over there as well.)
Keep in mind that the events aren't completely "random." A number of them are tied to style of play. I almost always get the free market boost and a bunch of religious weddings that boost relations, but those don't happen if you don't play in certain ways. If you get the dice roll that gives you...
OK. Trickle then. I'll revise my statement to say that some people would rather shut the trickle down completely and be somehow "right" in their own eyes. Odd, that.
Some people's "righteous indignation" will get in the way of this well-reasoned position. They'll stand on their soapboxes and declare that they are "right" and Firaxis is "wrong."
...and the end result? The flow of information is shut down.
So, for those of us who use no other mods, and don't play MP, there's no real risk then? And I'm I reading this correctly that what I need to do is unzip into CustomAssets and your events + the real events become my in-game events?
