Replace melons with coconuts in this pic: :mischief:
I read an article in New Scientist recently about fusion power, where they went through some of the major obstacles. One of them was that it's so incredibly hard to confine the plasma perfectly. There will always be sudden bursts of...
Indeed. My colloid chemistry prof used to say that nanotech is just a fancy new word for stuff that they'd been doing for decades. (colloids = tiny particles, some of which fall within the nano size range) So nanotech is in fact just a subset of chemistry.
The reason why the words "nano" and...
Can schools also train expert "goods processors", like blacksmiths and cigar makers? If they can only train raw material producers (like farmers and fishermen) then I'd say building a school early on doesn't sound like a good idea, since you can just send them to native villages instead..

Good idea for a thread. :)
I'm having a hard time picking a favourite.. I've read many good books. But the book which had the greatest impact on me was The Lord of the Rings. Such a fascinating universe! More than anything it "set the stage" and kickstarted my own imagination, creating...
Me too. :) That would be my first priority -- buying and preparing quality food. I'm hoping to one day have so much money that I can buy food without having to worry about the pricetag. If I want lobster one day, heck then I'll buy lobster.
