- Summary -
I couldn't find a way to import Nif files into 3ds Max anywhere on this site, so I googled for a better plugin a while ago, and found these. Then someone suggested that I should upload them here Some people have probably already found these plugins, like me, but it's a lot easier if they're here on the database for anyone that doesn't have them.
Also included is NifSkope, which is a more basic version of the SceneViewer, but it doesn't require 3ds Max. I use this program just for viewing nifs and it also has a much easier rotation method (you don't need to learn trigonometry to use it) so rotating objects is a lot easier in this program once you get used to it.

NOTE : WHEN EXTRACTING FILES TO YOUR 3DS MAX DIRECTORY, OVERWRITE ALL FILES WITH THESE ONES IF PROMPTED
If you have 3ds Max 6.0 :
1. Go here and download the 3ds Max 6 Civilization IV Export plugins. Extract everything from this ZIP into your 3ds Max 6 directory. This will also give you access to the SceneViewer program from your 3ds Max directory.
2. Download the file I uploaded, at the top of the screen. Open the ZIP archive and go into the "Max 6.0" folder. Select everything from this folder in the ZIP and extract into your 3ds Max 6 directory.
If you have 3ds Max 7.0 or higher :
1. Go here and download the 3ds Max 7+ Civilization IV Export plugins. Extract everything from this ZIP into your 3ds Max directory. This will also give you access to the SceneViewer program from your 3ds Max directory.
2. Download the file I uploaded at the top of the screen. Open the ZIP archive and go into the folder for your 3ds Max version. Select everything from this folder in the ZIP and extract into your 3ds Max directory.
Installing NifSkope
Go to the NifSkope folder in the ZIP and run the exe file there to install.
