After the glorious victory of united Greek forces against Persia, the feud separated Peloponnesus peninsula under Sparta rule from Greece, lead by Athens. Greece's two biggest poleis were preparing for war. Sparta based the Peloponnesian Union, Athens gathered their allies in the Delian Union. The iron force of Sparta hoplites was almost invincible, but Athenians fleet was superior on sea. Moreover, Athenians built the Long Walls to protect their capital.
