I played this mod > 225 times. I played each civ many times, different maps, difficulty levels, and with different options.
One of my favorites is to ramp up the difficulty, play on one of the larger map sizes, then go for raging barbarians. The only risk of an early game ending is if the computer players can't survive as well.
