Original Description/Intro:
This is the documentation for the modpack : "The Mysterious Cities of Gold" for Civilization 2. It contains for the moment only one scenario : "Attack of the Olmecs" . The next scenario of this modpack should be : "The Urubus" and should describe Esteban's adventures near Lake Titicaca and the dicovery of the Great Condor.
The Mysterious Cities of Gold is a Franco-Japanese cartoon of 39 episodes diffused for the first time on TV on the 28th of september 1983. Its unequalled succes is the result of its quality, notably its scenario (based on Scott O'Dell's novel : The King's Fifth ) and its music.
The story starts in 1532 and tell the adventures of 3 children : Esteban, an orphan who lived in Barcelona ; Zia, a young inca; and Tao, the last descendant of Hiva empire, their continent had benn flooded under the Pacific ocean a few centuries before. The children are accompanied by a spanish sailor Mendoza and Pedro and Sancho, looking for the legendary cities of gold.
After discovering the three ruined cities, Esteban and his friends have escaped the Olmec's base, called the Burning Shield, and have been welcomed in the maya village of th New Sun. Unfortunately the Olmecs took the opportunity for locating the village and are going to attack. The other maya villages fear for the moment the power of these odd Olmecs...
This scenario has been made to play with Esteban and his friends. It's also possible to embody Olmecs,Mayas and Spanish but the game will be lightly different because the computer won't be able to assume Esteban's role. The 3 other civilizations (keepers, mayas_2 et mayas_3) must be controled by the computer.
You will find below very useful advices concernig every civilizations you can embody. I advise you to read the part which concerns you before any game.
