[1.0.0.38] CTD, NTC, Temporary solution to pass beyond crash turn

After trying everything, I went back to an auto save that was approx. 20 turns before my next turn crash wall.. After about 1 week of not playing, and attempting this, during my turns I made some changes to my worker improvements..
I chopped some jungles, where a bottleneck naturally was between mountains and other civs had three traders walking through.
Not sure if some of my improvements changed beakers, but turn before previous next turn crash turn, I noticed I got a science boost for the tech I was researching for building a university by a mountain. (I do not remember this before)
I also sent some units to map fog on my continent where two other civs had borders. Noticed they had units loitering in that zone.

I am relieved that it appears that I might be able to finish this game I created a week ago. I've tried everything Before this, I went back a couple turn saves and still ran into the next turn crash wall. However this time going back about 20 turns, I was able to break through the wall.

I also deleted some old save files in my civ folder, Not all but those that were irrelevant.
I was surprised to see I added 1 gb of space to the SSD by doing this. lol

-I changed great works around in cities
-Selected a different policy than needed when asked
-kept my frigate at home borders instead of explorering
-returned cpu speed back to factory (think my crash save was when I had it overclocked)
-selected a different trade route for trader when asked.
