(Again this may be a bug common to all platforms not just the Switch. Switch vers. no. in title).

Look at screenshots:

Results:

B: 5 votes for Kupe by Kupe.
1 vote for Pachacuti by Pachacuti (screen #3)
A: 1 vote for Mansa Musa by Amanitore.
1 vote for Kupe by Mansa Musa.
1 vote for Hammurabi by unknown.
1 vote for <obscured> by Hammurabi.
1 vote for Hojo Tokimune by Hojo Tokimune.
1 vote for unknown by unknown.
1 vote for Amanitore by Simon Bolivar.
1 vote for Simon Bolivar by Saladin.

The elected outcome: A - 8, B - 6
Target: Kupe.

It seems to have just tallied the As regardless of target. Then calculated the target with the most votes regardless of whether it was A or B. :cringe:

Actual results:
B - 5 votes for Kupe
B - 1 vote for Pachacuti
A - 1 vote each for Kupe, Hammurabi, Hojo Tokimune, Amanitore, Simon Bolivar, Unknown and <obscrured>

(Even if obscured turned out to be one of the others, they would have had at most 2 votes vs. 5 for Kupe).

Effectively Kupe's votes were used against him.

<Trump face> This is voter fraud!! I won the election!

WORKAROUND: Kupe should vote instead for someone else. That way he wouldn't have inadvertently made himself the target of the WC PR resolution.

As far as I understand the voting process, the game first counts "all A" vs. "all B" and picks the category with the higer amount if votes. Then inside the choosen category the target which has received most votes (votes to the same target in the opposite category are already discarded at that point and don't matter). Itr is probably the tie-breaking mechanism (based on relating the votes to invested/total DF) picking Kupe here.

I've only just realised this is how the WC tallies all such resolutions.

But this is not how the United Nations works, which is what the WC is based on, right?

Say for example they want to pass a Human Rights Resolution against Sri Lanka, Belarus and Yemen at the UN HRC.

When the human rights council sits, they tally votes for each country (i.e. target). O/w it's nonsense! :cringe:

I didn't understand how ties work from your link :lol: but I'm pretty sure B was voted and then Kupe was decided because of a tie within B.
The workaround mentionned in the first post wouldn't have worked. The workaround would have been to vote B for anyone else than yourself.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

This is also the same case for the WC vote on luxuries.

But overall the issue is that the WC although based on the United Nations, tallies its votes in a very weird over complicated, un transparent and ridiculous way.

It is a game I understand but still...it could be simpler
