It has made things smoother for me on every map under "huge", but on "huge" i'm getting some massive lag/framerate issues. (Worse than before)

I'm just curious though, there are a lot of options in the config that i'm not entirely sure what they do.

; Allows some memory savings *** ALT-TAB WILL NO LONGER FUNCTION ***
MemSaver = 0

; Use managed interface textures (may be safer but shouldn't be needed, uses more memory)
GUIManagedTextures = 0

; Disable caching of file system (may slow initialization)
DisableFileCaching = 1

; Disable caching of xml and file system (may slow initialization)
DisableCaching = 0

----------------

; Disable PAK memory mapping (May affect performance)
DisablePAKMemoryMapping = 0

; Enable Trilinear Filtering for the Minimap
MinimapTrilinearFilter = 1

; Set to 1 for dynamic animation paging
DynamicAnimPaging = 0

^How would I set those up for the smoothest gameplay?

I'm running a rather hefty computer - it was built for FPS. (after overclocking - AMD64 3800+, 6800 ultra , 1 gig of 2-2-2-5 ram, Audigy 2 ZS, Asus A8n-SLi Deluxe, 10,000rpm 74 gig raptor for main harddrive etc.)..

The option which disables alt-tabbing has to be left on for me (I alt-tab constantly while playing Civ IV. However, my "Earth" (huge) game last night was using up more than 700 megs of memory and was slowing down to a complete crawl after a round or two (1800's)

Anything in my .cfg able to help this?

(I run at 1280x1024 "high, high, high, and 2x AA (or whatever filtering it is) and theres absolutely no problems till i got till the later huge game.

(Sorry that took so long, christmas and all)

I tried removing the AA, or setting the graphic options down to "medium", neither of them did anything with the slowdown - which is why i'm thinking the slowdown has to do with CPU usage and such. (Enemy turns miid 1950's were still taking <10 seconds, but map movement was a slideshow - bout 3 or 4 FPS)

Still, i'm curious which settings are best in the .cfg to get smoother gameplay. The game was taking an enormous amount of ram up.
