1.61 HideMovieBackground = 1 doesn't do anything

Open the config (ini) file in notepad, and find the line which reads HideMovieBackground = 0, set it to HideMovieBackground = 1

The intro and victory movies expand to fill the screen, so play the game at lower resolutions (like 1024x768 ) to get the best performance.

Doesn't do anything, background remains and runs in window as before.

Has anybody seen this work.

Where are you quoting that from?

In my experience, the HideMovieBackground = 1 does alter the game. I don't think it's supposed to make wonder movies go to full-screen. Instead, it turns the backgroud of the game to black, ie. instead of the main civ window in the backgroud with cities/units visible, that screen is blacked-out, and only the wonder video popup screen shows graphics.

FYI, that's not a real game, I did a quickstart and used the WB to get the wonder. Also, I always play in windowed mode, to reduce strain on my vid card. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.
