Maybe these have been asked already, but I wasn't able to find any solutions...

#1:

Earlier I've used only the strategic mode but now my computer is powerful enough to handle Civ5's 3d graphics. There's just one annoyance between the modes: camera perspective. While strategic mode is 2d, normal view is isometric:

Is it possible to control the camera in Normal Game View (= 3D game view)? I'd like a 2d representation a lot more.

#2: In normal game view city name plates don't change appearance when zooming in our out. In strategic mode city name plates do this:

zoomed close:

zoomed far away:

This behaviour is also annoying and forces to use close zooms only in strategic mode :I

Are there any mods or some other solutions for either problem? :/

#1 doesnt bother me so i dont know if it can fixed.

but #2 is annoying. ill be zoomed in and micromanage a worker standing next to the city and instead click the city because the nameplate was still large. that would something i'd like a fix for.

Wow, I didn't even know Strategic View actually had proper name plates, I just assumed it was the original "Map Editor" version -.-

To me, having the name plates be so freaking big when you zoom out in normal that OT covers up the terrain is a bigger issue.

For that matter, a way or mod to disable the UI for screendshots would be nice, too.
