Question:

You can't attack someone if you have traded with until ten turns after your last trade.

Are giving tribute or giving gifts also included in this?

If so, you could . .. .. .. . with the AI on Cultural deity for example by giving 1 gold every 10 turns or so.

I'm probably wrong, am I?

It only works if one civ demands something for free and the other civ accepts.
