100% BSOD Crash...Except for Tutorial

what was the conclusion of this story mason? it is unbelievable that you are facing problems with a machine with those specs. i was considering upgrading ram from 1 to 2 gb but after reading your posts, i think that is not the solution for me.

i have a amd 3000+, 1gb ram, 6600 gt 128, and had to disable in-game sound, set graphics to low, revert video card drivers to a prior one, but i am still getting those annoying bsods.

seriously, i don't know what else to do, i love the game but definetely something wrong with it. have you ever seem a game with a forum with so many people complaining that can't play it properly because all those ctds, bsods etc? i'm totally pissed off.

It sounds like your PSU may not be providing enough stable power even though it's 550W (which might explain why it works better with the USB unplugged).

I had BSOD, reboots and CTD all the time until I finally unplugged my floppy drive which allowed enough power for my video card and CPU. Unplug a few things (floppy.. CD..) and see if it makes a difference.
