12/22 Patch - 946 MB?

Tried to start the game this morning and found that the game was downloading a new patch, 946.5 MB. Looking in general discussion others have said that it was 8 MB. Does anyone else have this problem? (of inordinately large updates)

I played late last night, now 10 hours later when I try to start the game it sits on "installing....1%" then says "the game is improperly installed".

I just played it last night using. I have the normal special edition version.

Yeah, instead of getting a small patch, my game is downloading again. The whole 4 Gigs... It was never uninstalled.

Appears to be a glitch with the new patch. Having uninstalled both steam and civ 5, now reinstalled both and told to wait between 5 hours and a day for the game to redownload all I can say is I regret legally purchasing this rubbish and I applaud Steam, Firaxis and 2K in their move to support the future piracy of all their games.
