Seeing as there is no diplomacy in the new editor I thought these years could be best portrayed for a scenario. Here is my basic outline for it. But do not try to run it (it will crash), as this is just the .bic uploaded.

I've placed cities, roads, techs, with new civs, *somewhat* new units, some new techs, resources, map, and availibility of improvements and wonders. Soon Spain, England, France, Holland, and Portugal will sail for new found power. :king:

PS. Has anyone found the new editor so buggy as I have? I can't seem to give techs to a civ without making them unplayable for the human.

Hey Iknowkungfu. I too am working on a similar scenario with lots of custom units. My scenario will ONLY involve the Ancient Central/Southern American tribes and maybe...possibly the spaniards and portugese. If you are interested in working together on a series of scenarios mail me at Thomson_2001@hotmail.com and ill respond. Check out my website of the new units and ideas. ps, love your map!

If you assing different Civs as players, only one of them can be the human player. The rest default to computer controlled.

What I was trying to say was that it is impossible to give techs to other civs without making them be computer controled, That is why right now only the Spanish are playable. I can set the techs for the human so that he will get them, but if I want to make the English, French, Dutch ect. playable the ones that aren't human controlled will start with no technology! :( The only way I can see to get around this is to make a different version for all players (One .bic for England one for France... you get the picture)

I'm very interested in doing scenarios for this period of time. With the scenario editor as is I think it is one of the few periods where locked diplomacy isn't really an issue. I couldn't imagine a hisorically accurate WWII or Napoleonic one with the way things are :o . I checked out your website that stuff is perfect for what I'm doing well trying to do. The Mayan archer is exactly what I needed. :goodjob:

P.S. The map is originally Kal-el's I giv ehim much thanks for making it. I've tweaked alot of it so that there aren't a horde of colonists heading toward central Asia. Also the Civ2 colonies scenarios by John Ellis have really been a huge inspiration, the AI now will actually send settlers to the new world. :king:

It looks like a very good beginning. I have some things to say about the way you arranged the scandinavian counties.

In 1492 Norway had been under Danish rule for a century and were one monarchy to 1814. Denmark/Norway and Sweden had also the same king Hans (also known as Johan II) from 1497-1501. In 15th century there were periods in which the scandinavian countries had only one king. But most of the time they had separate kings. But Norway belonged to Denmark through the period. The Swedish king were Sten Sture the older (1470-1503). Gustav Vaasa, the leader you chose, was king 1521-1560.

I don`t know if this is important to you, but since I`m fan of historical correct scenarios I thought I should point this out to you.

Conclusion: I think you should put Copenhagen under Sweden, rename it to Kalmar Union and change leader to Hans.

Thanks, This kind of info is very helpful. My knowledge isn't razor sharp for this era, but like I said, thats why this is an outline. :goodjob: I've already implemented changing the citys over, but I'm not sure about changing the name to Kalmar Union, as most people will probably have no idea what it represents. Scandinavia or the Scandinavian Union might sound a little better.
