1st April Update

Actually you can't pop UU's from huts so Aztecs & Sumeria get warriors (also Iroquois, Egypt & Hittites would get horsemen) when popping a hut gets a free unit result.

Warriors are disabled for Aztecs and Sumeria, and Horsemen are disabled for Iroqouis. So those civs cannot pop those units.

This could be considered a design flaw, as it can be fixed by enabling the units in the editor.

Aztecs cant build warriors, so they can not pop them from huts I believe..

IIRC, all civs can pop warrior from goody huts no matter what.

On a different note: I'm surprise that no one have attempted to beat boogaboo's fast conquest on Sid yet. I just reviewed his game and I think it could be improved as follows:

1. Smaller world size (tiny with 80% water may yield faster result).
2. I think the Persians may be more effective than the Aztecs. Though they can't build cheap barracks, but they are industrious...on a good map with near by forests, they could chop some forests to rush the barracks. Plus, they can immediately start searching for Iron Working right away. In boogaboo's Sid game, he conquered the world mostly with swordmans, why not go with the Immortals? Again, I think the forests holds the key...Immortals are more expensive, but with the help of the forests, it can be done.

I made a test map, and then noticed that aztecs can indeed build warriors, and can pop them.. warriors are not disabled for aztecs..

However summeria can not build warriors... I popped myself into MA, and then another 30 or so huts in turn 1 that only gave maps or gold.. no warriors or horsemen (cant pop horsemen untill some civ builds them)
A very strange thing I noticed here was that popping huts beelined for hourseback riding, even if i was researching the techs (picked techs i was researching over other ones)

Thanks for getting to the bottom of it!:)

PS: I didn't see Dave's post...he must have posted it while I was typing mine. Your test worked out exactly as Dave have said.

Hmmmm, very interesting! :)

@Gyathaar: 2 Points

1. Did you test using PTW and/or Vanilla?

2. I've never known DaveMcW to make an incorrect statement before!? Is it possible that behind that "ChessMaster 7000" face is a real human being? :mischief:

I thought: "Am I losing it or what?"

Then the Penny dropped! As Aztecs:
1. Vanilla/PTW: You CANNOT build or pop Warriors
2. C3C: You CAN build and pop Warriors
:)

Ah.. I tested in C3C.. this explains why I dont remember aztecs having warriors thou, since I dont think I have played them in C3C :p

The thing that surpriced me most thou was the fact it would pop techs I was currently researching as summeria untill it gave me horseback riding.. I assume to enable popping of horsemen

Congratulations to everyone! Especially to Dianthus for handling yet another record update, but without me.

I'm back, by the way.

Glad you're back, 'slug......It's just not the same around here when you're gone! :)
