You build the regular and FP in the same city?? In my game I built the FP in a cty a couple cites length away from my capitol. This city started building a wonder, but another Civ beat me to it (arg..). Now I have the option to switch to Palace which will complete in one turn. I tried this out, and it actaully let my build it. Doesn't seem like there's any use for this, no super corruption reduction.

No, there wouldn't be, the corruption model doesn't work that way. At least, I don't think so.

I'd move that palace out of the city with the FP, because as it is now you're basically wasting the FP.

I hate it when the AI gets a wonder only a few turns before I do!

But if they do, I usually go and capture the city it was built in (depends on the wonder) :D

Actually, it may be useful. It depends what version you're playing.
On Vanilla the FP acts like a second capital, reducing the corruption in a surrounding area, but from what i heard, in Conquests it doesn't work that way: it raises the OCN limit instead. Don't remember about PTW.
So, if you're playing Vanilla your FP is wasted. If you're playing Conquest you may even keep both of them there, assuming it's convenient for you to have the Palace moved.

I'm with Pentium. I didn't think it would be possible either. Is the FP destroyed by building the palace in that city?

You can't build the FP in the capital city, so it doesn't seem like building the palace in the FP city would be allowed.

No, you're wasting it even in Conquests. The FP still reduces the corruption in the city it's in and also affects the cities around it, though not as much as in Vanilla.
