Playing for a Culture win as Louis XIV (won in 1970 - pre-patch). Around 1965 or so I managed to flip the Egyptian capital of Thebes (yay!). I was so close to winning, I didn't really pay any attention to it until a couple of turns later. When I went in to look at the city to see what it had. . . . .

here is a shot of Paris from the same turn

I should have taken a screenie of the mouse over on the Palace - "National Wonder: -1 left"

The save is attached

This looks like it must be a bug to do with flipping capitals. It seems to recognise that Thebes isn't your capital as it is only marked with a silver, rather than a gold star. It does seem a little odd though. I've never heard of anyone else flipping a capital, so it's possible no one else has spotted this yet.

Hi, this has happened to me too!!! Here is my capital with palace:

Here is Beijing, a capital I captured pre-patch:

Notice the lack of a palace.

Lastly, here is Athens, a capital I captured with the patch:

As you can see the patch now keeps palaces which really helps for lowering maintenance costs and making capitals regain culture quickly.

The patch doesn't keep palaces - my screen shots are pre-patch.

Oh, well it does for me.

Are you still able to build Forbidden Palace after this happens? Maybe (guess) a captured/flipped Palace can take the place of FP if you're eligible.

That's a good question - When Thebes flipped I already had both the Forbidden palace and the Versaillles built. . .

Well it seems to be a bug, however with unrelated to previouse CIVs I thinks it should (!) stay like this, a conquered capital still has it's palace and should be calculated as (at least) source of gold & cultural revenue.

when I conquer a capital the palace never survives. Neither in v. 1.00 or in v. 1.09. Might be some odd setting ?

I believe the OP was talking about flipping it with culture not taking it by force...
