2 research agreements finish at the same time

What would happen if you had 2 research agreements finish at the same time? Would the excess carry over to your next chosen tech?

if you picked the next tech in line, yes, otherwise the overflow will go into a random tech.

Research agreements only give 50% of the median value of all techs you can research.
So if you have 2 finish at the same time there shouldn't be any overflow...

There would be overflow if you had started even a little bit of the tech, or if it was a less expensive tech than the median.

If you are halfway through researching your current tech and you have two RAs finish on the same turn, that is 100% of the median amount of the available techs. That means the median tech and any below that would get finished in one turn with no research into it at all. So depending on how far into your current tech you are and if you have already put research into another tech, you could potentially get two techs on the same turn from the RAs.

The only way you wouldn't have any overflow is if you had just started researching one of the more expensive techs available to you.

This also doesn't take into account the Porcelain Tower or Rationalism.

And yes rationalism and porcelain tower together make 1 research agreement worth 2.

Are u absolutely sure of this? Since you can't close two RA's at exactly the same time, there's always one that matures earlier (albeit in the same turn). Wouldn't the game first calculate 50% of median for the first RA, give you the beakers and then calculate again for the second RA based on THEN available techs?

Yes, actually that is what would happen.
You can also control the overflow.
Sometimes, if their is so much overflow that the next tech(s) will only take 1 turn to research, you are given a research screen where you are prompted to make a choice on the next tech you wan't to research, that is where the overflow will be directed.

It would depend on if the first RA completed a tech or not. If it doesn't complete a tech, then the median would be exactly the same. If it does complete a tech then yes, it would recalculate.
