3.13 crashes when loading games with custom assets

Hello,

I've been going crazy trying to make my game work with the new patch, but I have absolutely no idea what is causing it to crash.
It runs fine until I try to load or start a new game, whereupon it gives me a CTD with an error message referring to either cvgamecoredll.dll or msvcp71.dll.

I'm not sure how to go about fixing this.
I had no problems with the game before, but through a process of elimination I have managed to figure out that it only breaks if I am using anything in my custom assets folder.

I'm using the UK version of the game, patched to 3.13 from the Firaxis download page.
I completely reinstalled civ 4, warlords and bts fresh.

Here's what I've noticed:
When I load the game fresh with no mods -> no problem.
When I use the unofficial patch -> no problem.
Use civ4scale -> no problem.
Use bluemarble -> crash.
Use bug mod -> crash.
Use bat mod -> crash.

The only way that I manage to get it to work is if I rename my custom assets folder. This solution at least enables me to play, but I'd love to be able to use mods again.

Any suggestions?

All mods including graph mods will have to be adjusted to 3.13 and as with previous patches are likely to cause crashes. One of the I have with this patch is that it does not simply ignore custom assets build prior to 3.13 but rather crashes when it sees them

Strange, I'm using Blue Marble and it works like a charm. Are you definitely using version 3.0 of BM?
