Strange, but Civ 3 Conquests refuses to use 32 bit color and runs in 16 bit color mode instead. Civ3Edit starts in 32 bit btw... The only thing I changed after the installation was keepres=1 in the .ini file. I am running Vista 64 and tried to start Civ3 normally and in compatibility mode (w2k or XP, doesn't matter, the problem persists). Any ideas why could it happen? THat's really annoying to have your desktop settings changing every time you start the game... :(

I did have some problems with the screen in Win7 trying to run at different resolutions. I finally removed my Video= and the res settings. I left the Keep to 1. Now it behaves for me. I think I run at 1920x1080.

Sadly the only thing I have related to video is KeepRes (tried to remove it, but no luck). Do you know if there is a key to force color depth?

Well, I finally decided to install Virtual PC with good old XP :) Thank you for your answers.
