Hi,

I'm seeking a good 3D adventure game that will keep someone occupied for 24-48 hours, but I'm not sure of their PC specs... might be a Pentium II.

I know they have Diablo II, but that they never finished it, so maybe it bored them.

Unreal 2 strikes me as being a good match, but the hardware requirements may be too high.

Can you suggest something?

Diablo I?
Something off Shrapnel Games?

What's "3D" meaning here? Is there a specific game genre?

If you want true adventure games, here are some good choices:

Syberia
Escape From Monkey Island
Grim Fandango
Uru: Complete Chronicles

Maybe I got the genre wrong. I was thinking along the lines of Unreal/Unreal 2 - 3D... erm... adventure/action thingies.

I don't think they would like the games listed. They never took to Tomb Raider (any version), and I think that's because it's too methodical - not much action. Syberia just wouldn't be their cup of tea.

Dungeon Keeper (2?) kept them occupied. Unreal Tournament kept them occupied.

This was quite a serious request for help! :undecide:

I'll be abandoning someone for 24-48 hours in the run-up to Christmas and would feel much more comfortable about that if I gave them something to keep them busy for that time..

Any adventure thingies?

Angband. Without a doubt. ToME if they're powergamers.

Angbang might do the trick, but they might be snobbish about the lack of graphics ;)

What is ToME. I cannot find a review?

ToME - Angband clone with built in help system - very advanced. www.t-o-m-e.net is the address.

There is IsoAngband if graphics are in such high demand.

Cool. I checked that out, but still looking..

What about Terry Pratchett's Discworld Noir? I found this review and maybe it's boring, cannot tell. Guess it wasn't an effective review :p

It's funny, but it's more like his later novels, which are fairly dry. It's similar in interface to EFMI, which has a 3D character running around prerendered scenes.

Evil Genius is pretty good, rather similar to Dungeon Keeper 2.
