4-Player Conquest

Just leave my settings at default, although I'd like if you could rename 'Svein' to 'Sven'
 
hello people!
i'm really interested in playing this scenario, so if you by any chance need 5th player - count me in

i'd like to play as Byzantines, and my time is around 14 - 18 GMT

Oops, Portuga wanted to be Germany too but he sent his request to me by PM. Rocinante was on the thread first, so I think he should get his choice.

@ Portuga - let me know which you want to be so we can figure this out. Germany and Denmark is already taken. If you want to be the Byzantines I'll give it to you since you were on the thread before EliitMees.

@ EliitMees - I think a fifth wouldn't be a problem on this scenario. I don't want any more players than that though.

Also, I realized that I did the GMT conversion backwards this morning. So let me straighten that out:

Deshelbr (4-8 GMT)
Rocinante (5-10 GMT)
Portuga (10-17 GMT)
EliitMees (14-18 GMT)
IronDuck (22-02 GMT)

Does this seem OK with everyone?

I'm going to make the save now and set Portuga as France (the closest and most similar Civ to Germany) and make my move. I'll be Cordova. That way if Portuga comes back and says he wants France I can just pass it on. If Portuga picks a different Civ I'll remake the game and start it again.
 
Can we all agree that we will play this game to the end? Even if we have basically lost we will still keep playing. Also, it would be good if everyone sends a confirmation email when they receive the game so that we know if it gets stuck. This is really helpful in getting a good read on game progress.
 
I'll take any civ, post each time I play, and I agree to play to the bitter end.
Might want to check the rotation--I'm on the west coast of N. America and I'm sending to Portugal, is that right? BTW where the heck is Fanatikou?

I'm in Los Angeles.

Fanatikou is the name of the Civilization Fanatics Center's team in the Multi-Site Democracy Game currently taking place. It's not where I really am.

If you'll take any civ, Rocky, then I'm making you France so we can get this started.

I agree to play this game to the bitter end as well. Being a Conquest that won't last two years I'm OK with that.
 
OK, first turn save has been played and sent to Rocinante. I made myself England instead of Cordova because I decided I didn't want to be the only Arab nation. I had to mod the biq file to get the turn order correct. The only thing I did other than change which Player number corresponded to each Civilization was change the starting technologies so each Civilization would start with the appropriate techs.

Hope I did everything right, good luck everyone.

I don't understand this.. You changed the starting techs or just had to fix it so that it was the way the scenario was meant to be?

This should be fun, looking forward for my turn :D
 
Btw, deshelbr I need your email since I'm sending to you.. It would be nice if you could cc an email to each of us with the list of names and email addresses so we can just check it in order to do negotiations etc..
 
Okay, my fault, mis-typed your address. Power has been out for the last 3 hours, seems a city bus fell off the overpass and landed on the light-rail power pole. Resent game.

BTW, I am now France even though I'm still called the Germans on the little screen. I also have something called a 'crown of thorns'--Civlopedia says to take it to Jersalem to get a bunch of points. However, it doesn't have any movement value and it didn't want to piggyback on my spearman so I'm unsure how to take it anywhere. I'm I the only one with this? If so, please don't all come at once to try to take it .

The scenario is set up so that player numbers are assigned to Civ's. When you play the game players have to go in the order of their numbers. So to make the game work in the order we wanted I had to assign Player 1 to Briton, Player 2 to France, etc.

The problem was that when you set the technologies that everyone starts with, you set that for a player number and not a civ. So, I had to fix the starting techs for each player so they would match up with the assigned civ correctly.

Anyway, it is how it is supposed to be tech-wise, we are just playing out of the order the scenario was intended.

The way I understand it, you have to load it into something to be able to move it. I think you can load it onto any unit, if not I guess you have to put it in the Army unit to move it.

Sorry about the mis-naming thing, I was a little sleepy and tipsy when I finally built the scenario. I think I just screwed up the nation name and called you Germany.
 
deshelbr: could you please send an email to all players with the CIV each one is playing,the email addresses, and the play order.

I played my turn, but I'm not shure who to send it to now. :-)

It's nice to have other players emails, so that I can declare war properly ;-)

portuga: according to that list it looks like you have to send it to me
you should check if it's Byzantines right after you in in-game list
eliitmees @ merimax.ee

and of course that would be a good idea to e-mail addresses of all players
