oh wow I didn't know about this. Just patched my Civ5 dx11 exe so we shall see after testing on huge maps...

the "large address aware" flag is already set for civ5.exe so i would be very surprised if this makes any difference
That's disappointing. Either way, when we look at memory costs would it help to play at a lower resolution? AMD has some upscaling thing, maybe that would help to get the game more stable memory wise?

So I found this post: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/graphical-errors-after-x-amount-of-time.635899/ from a while ago, and people were talking about a 4gb patch (https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371) which would resolve some issues due to 2gb memory limitations (usually happens when you use a lot of mods or huge maps; I even stop using ethnic units because of it).
So my question is if anyone actually uses it? If it works?
If so, why don't people recommend it for high memory usage mods.
I have used it for a few years already and it's fine.

I personally use this on all of the older games that do not have the flag set, have never encountered any issues. To note you have to re-do if there is a game update, which would be extremely unlikely.

The game never received any updates for the last 4 years (or a major one for almost a decade), so it should be fine.

Good question and idea. I'll try this out with Radeon Super Res on my next game
