What does an abstain option accomplish? Just that one doesn't want to pick sides, so by not voting you are abstaining. If there is a grievance someone wants to add they can abstain and post a comment in hopes the PF will address it. If there is something I am overlooking please expalin.

It allows a voter to say they dislike either option in a manner that can be counted.

Makes sense. In all future polls I do I will include the abstain option. I was under the impression that, under a faction style system, one would simply create their own faction if they didn't like the options.

Sure, a spoiled ballot option is good.

Well, that's pretty much the case in any system. If you don't like what's offered, you can always present another option next time around.

But the ABSTAIN choice allows everyone to see how many have come to the poll and made a decision about the options, AND had thier choice recorded in the official tally. Most may not want to read all the comments to find this out. Plus making a post does not include your choice in the official tally. A citizen's choice needs to be recorded.

There is no layed out time for when the elections will end. Is this covered?

Sept. 20th is when it ends.
Correct. About 12 hours earlier than the time on this post on the 20th. Actually, make that the time Vandal's post was made.

About ten hours left, think we can put this one in the bag. Great job Vandal for sticking to your guns and not giving up.
