Current status: Agribusiness - 10% of :c5food:food is gained as :c5gold:gold, +5 :c5food:food, +2 :c5production:prod and :c5gold:gold from farms and pastures, 6 :c5gold:gold maintenance, consumes 2 Horses.

Proposed change: Agribusiness has 6 gold no maintenance cost

Reason:
Agribusiness is currently a dump building for the Horse strategic resource that is being phased out of use when it is usually unlocked. However, it isn’t good to build in every city since :c5food:food is generally a bad yield in the stage of the game you get them. Players are incentivised to work any other tile giving more :c5production:/:c5gold:/:c5science:/:c5culture:/:tourism: than farms and there arent many pastures per city. This causes the yields from this building to be lower than expected.

There is also the strategic resource requirement. I believe that players should be incentivised to spend them as much as possible to encourage competition over them, which means that this building should be good enough to build in any decently placed city so there will always be a want for more of this building in your empire.

Buffing this building will thus help Horses remain worth fighting over by making it more viable to build.

This proposal is my way to buff the Agribusiness, since it produces mostly :c5gold:gold, I gave it the same treatment for other gold buildings and had it be maintenance free. Open to counterproposal for better ideas for buffs.

Jumping from 6 Maintencance to 0 is a huge leap. Maybe cut it in half first and see how it performs?

It would also be pretty weird to see 1 building have 3 maintenance when everything else in the same era has 4-6, maybe some extra gold yield?

This seems fine. I'm still not sure if it is worth building even with this pretty big buff. It makes gold so having zero gold cost like a market makes some sense.

I sponsor this.
