Welcome to the 6otM198 After Actions Report (AAR) thread.

STOP - Please do not continue reading this thread until you have completed and submitted your game.

In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state your victory/loss turn/date (preferably in the post title) and describe your path to glory in this post! Please attach your victory save to your post. Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Please use spoiler tags for any surprise details you'd like kept hidden. Thank you.

If this is a replay, please indicate 'REPLAY' at the top of your post. If you conduct regular restarts, please indicate 'RELOADS' at the top of your post. More posting helps us all get play better as we understand the methods of others, but want to clearly distinguish between a first run through without reloads and other submissions as it is much harder to recover in game from the mistakes we all make.

Some questions to consider answering.
- What was your plan for achieving the VC? What are the major steps you planned to take? What events, if any, changed the plan in execution and to what new plan? Any interesting decision points?
- Where did you settle your capital and first few cities?
- What were your initial 5-10 builds in the capital or other early cities?

- Early order for technology/civics? What did you prioritize for technology/civics?
- How did the leader bonus and civ unique ability impact your plan/play, if at all?
- How many cities did you settle and/or capture?
- What were key production/purchase focuses? Military units / Civilian units / Districts & city development / Wonders / Civ Unique Unit & Infrastructure? Most critical or interesting?
- Pantheon chosen and why? Religious beliefs chosen, and why?
- What governments did you select? What key policy cards did you use? Why?
- Which Governors were most important; when and why?
- Was diplomacy/trading useful? How? Relations with other civs?
- When did you have Dark/Golden ages?
- How did the map affect your gameplay?
- Any surprises/frustration/elations you ran into, how did you deal with it?
- Did you enjoy your game?

Turn 179/180 Culture Victory (do we measure the turn the tourism is enough or the turn the victory screen triggers?)

My plan for culture victory was normal flight rush and use chateu, combined with seaside restort and other normal means to generate tourism. I was on the lookout for a city state that could accelerate it (La Venta/Rapa Nui) but as none of those were present I had to use the normal means. Finishing off with Rock bands of course.
It was a tough decision where to settle my initial city in this game. After a long thought I finally settled after moving the settler 2 square to get a 2/2 plans hill for my city and a 3/1 citrus tile as my first square. I was lucky there were 2 stone tiles on the other side of the mountain.
I used the recommended multiplayer meta build for this game, 2 scouts followed by 2 settlers (my standard starting build order for continent/pangea type maps).
I didn't plan to use any leader/civ features apart from the chateu. I got the Kandy city state for free in the middle of the game though which was nice.

I have to admit the dramatic ages brings a complete new challenge to a culture game. The challenge was trying to keep all the stupid AI alive. I had to gift a city to Pericles after stealing a settler from Poland on the edge of their continent to prevent him from dying. All his other cities succumbed to loyalty pressure. Tamar was killed by loyalty pressure as well, but I revived her a bit later by conquering revolted cities and freeing them. If I replayed the game I would probably use the revolted cities better to increase my number of cities. I only build 7 cities which I think was a bit few and I should probably have conquered more to get more space.

Turn 207(1460.) culture victory, score 1177. I played peacefully, until I got the chance to conquer some Free cities which revolted during AI dark ages. I took some cities by influence, like Tbilisi and Kandy. I had bad luck with rock bands, with one very lucky exception.

OK, this game was a nightmare for me. In my personal ranking the worst leader in Civ6 and we were given the worse version of her.

First of all, I have never played dramatic ages before, so did not even know what to expect. I learnt quite early, because my only expansion revolted because I was lacking 1 or 2 stupid erascore. If I knew, I would run this stupid projects for a prophet :]
I did not had the 3rd city yet, because barbs of course spawned triple just at the border. Why not :]
Secondly, I haven't played Civ6 for quite many months, so don't remember many techpaths yet and voting patterns for sure.

So basically until turn 70-80 I was trying to retake my city xD with my holy site for religion xD

Anyway, I finished blocked totally by the Mali with 5 cities only with no exploration, no knowledge of the world and Malinese blocking city unlikely to revolt. Kandy was less then useless for relic generation, as it gave me maybe 2. Kumasi OTOH was key, as well as Nan Madol powered by Kilwa Kisiwani.
I expanded past my peninsula very after t200, because Indonesia lost a city to dramatic age on a seperate continent near Hunza and luckily this city had no wall and I had an admiral to form an armada from privateer :]

Georgia killed by revolts, Greece too. Of course I tried to retake some cities, but my few Xbows versus rebeliants were paper :) Teching with NO campuses is not easy and my first campus went maybe t150 or something, with massive adj of 2 :P

So I think maybe diplo, but resolutions chosen were those of many guesiing - ban luxury, when you only know Indonesia and Mali and similar.

At the end, when it was clear that IF tourism, it would be past 350 if posible at all, I noticed, that actually I am at 13diplopoints, and Statue is not built. And because I was suz of basically everything, I banked some flavors.
So the final voting was won 17:16, just because some civs decided not to spend everything to block me and spend some points to make Launch Moon Landing cheaper. Turn 272 finish is still not what I should be proud of.
