Well, I accepted the offer and after 10 turns the deal is still on! So I already got 7410 gold! Unbelievable that the AI still keeps on researching in a crazy pace. They got Flight and Amphibious Warfare already while I almost have Radio...

It is crazy. My last 2 games I was cruising along 3-4 techs ahead for the whole Industrial Age, and then boom, the AI gets 3 techs all at once it seems, even though they are paying me outrageous amounts of money for techs. At least in my current game, I've got a scientific civ, so I got rocketry free to help pad my lead.

with allthi money, you can buy techs off them, then you can afford to lower tech rate to gain more money. and f youre worried abotu attacks, jsut make sure you have the best possible defenders in all cities. it'll take time for the to get a real army of=ver.

700 gold for Electricity ? I never played on Diety but it seems like a bargain to me.
I payed like 800 for republic on Monarch to the last civ standing on my continent. They had no contact with anyone else, yet. Needless to say, 2 turns later they were goners. I managed to recover about 500 gold ;).

that's true farting bob, but I think Aggie's reached the point where he can make enormous sums of money by cranking research up to 100% (with all the money from other civs) and get at least 1 tech before the others, thus giving him huge sums of cash, while also getting their techs.

That's more benifitial to buying off them for money only at this time.

@Bloog: "gpt" means "gold per turn".
So that's 741 times 20 turns. In other words, nearly 15,000 gold. ;)

also bloog, he's SELLING not buying.

No, that's gold per turn, for 20 turns, and it was for Electronics. I've had the AI pay me around 400 gold per turn for a tech. 741 isn't out of the question at all.

Yes, But the Ottomans and Celts didn't pay a huge amount (only 200 gpt or so). So they did the research and trade happened after that. The thing is that even on emperor you really can out-research the AI. It seems it's not that simple on deity. :)
