Overall, there is nothing to trade, all the AI's are dirt poor (hopefully this will change when banking gets around). I was expecting the turnchat to go the normal 10 turns, for banking would be completed, but that was not so.
 
I hate to say this but, nothing good worth trading...So I think no trade deals next turn chat...unless you want the Russia deal whice I don't really like..Your choice..

Once we open up new trade route's and get some new techs, we should be moving again.
 
The looming question is: If another civ (most likely Persia) discovers gunpowder, do we trade banking for it? How much are we willing to pay in addition, if necessary? Or do we stop the turnchat? Or don't we trade for gunpowder?

What do we do if astronomy is discovered? IMHO, we need it asap in order to trade for luxuries before the AIs do.

We have to see and find out. Once we are done researching banking may I propose to check the trades for all civilizations. Might get a few good deals...
 
That's going to be in my instructions, also I was going to add that if any other civilization learns a technology we don't know, to stop the chat.

How about we make some decisions now rather than stopping the game? tao and truckingpete raised a couple questions that we should be able to answer now. Then those answers can be included in the posted game play instructions so things can move along.

It seems to me that once we get banking the DP needs to check for trades every turn to see if there is something worth swappig. What we have to do is give the DP some guidelines about what we're willing to trade. I say we hold banking until we can get either gunpowder or astronomy for it. We should also decide if we're willing to pay any gold along with banking in order to get either of these techs.
