Hi Thal!

I use the latest mod playing in german and noticed that some policies don't work the way described. For example you should get happiness and it dosn't work or you get a great person but it's not mentioned that you should get one.

So i checked the policies of tradition (hope i use the right translations). Here some examples:
- "Tradition" gives 3 culture, should be 2
- "Legality" no great artist. Free monument in the first citys.
- "Monarchy" no prod. bonus for wonders and no great engineer.
- "elite-class" no food and science bonus

However, i got a 15% wonder-production bonus from one of the policies and when i finish the tree, i get 15% food bonus, but there should be no bonus for finishing. It looks like the descriptions are ok, but the bonus given is equal to the vanilla version.

Also the info-texts about the policies say only 4 give you a bonus, when you finish the tree (Liberty, Patronage, Freedom, Order). Is this intendend, or is just the text incomplete. As mentioned i couldn't check changes, as i only would get the bonuses from vanilla.

Could this all be a problem with the translation?

kind regards
Minet

btw: the information about the amount of science you get form being friend with another nation works now in the german version. Thanks for changing.

It's difficult for me to keep the translations up to date since I don't speak German fluently, nor have the German version of the game. I rely on others for this. If you have time to correct them, I'd add the corrections to the mod. It would probably take ~3 hours to update the whole mod for a fluent speaker.

Click here for details on how to do that if you're interested. :)

I would like to do that. Let's see how far i come as MOD-noob :)

Already installed WinMerge and checked some translations. The translation of policies is some versions behind i guess - this explains my problems/confusion.

Anyway i've read about some buildings and units (including translation) i haven't seen in the game yet:
Baths of Trajan
Agra Fort
Medici Bank
Pioneer
Shinto Shrine
Desert Caravans

I also did not find them in the civpedia. Are these all mod-made units/buildings? Are they "active" in the english version of the mod?

The first five have been removed/replaced either due to vanilla patches or rebalance reasons. I don't know about the last.

As Zaldron mentioned, the first five were removed for various reasons. "Desert Caravans" is the name of the building that applies the gold-from-luxuries effect for Arabia's trait.

Translation finished! I could also fix the problems of some files, which were not used entirely. I already sent Thal the files. However, some questions remain:

1) "<Row Tag="
Means that the entry is not used?
2) <Update>
<Where Tag="
If I would replace the "Row Tag" line with this one, it would update the file ingame?
3) TBM Barbarians Text-Files are not in use, right?
4) There are two entries for ship of the line in the civpedia. Does this also occur in the english version?
5) If you complete Order it says: "Adopting all Policies in the Order tree grants +1 of every yield in every city." I'm not sure what that means. Could somebody explain it to me please!?
6) Central Station is still in english. I didn't find it in the Text-Files. Is it possible to translate the civpedia entry?
7) Details for buildings and units in the production menu in a city are mostly in english. For example "maintenance", "Costs", "food surpluse" or "Obsolete" are not translated. The Units name is german, the explanation/infotext also. I don't know how to fix this. Can anybody help me!?

Thx for your help

Each city gets +1 :c5food:, :c5production:, :c5gold:, :c5science: and :c5culture:.

  1. Row creates a new text entry.
  2. Update replaces an existing entry. "Row" and "Update" should not be exchanged (it would cause duplicate entries, or search for nonexistant ones).
  3. These files are in use, for the name of barbarian units.
  4. There's two types of ship of the line: the removed English unique unit, and the new ship of the line everyone can use.
  5. What black213 said.
  6. There is a "Language_en_US" section within the file listed below. It's not good organization, but that's how Dan did it:
    CiVUP - Civ V Unofficial Patch\Capital Railroad Boost\Railyard.xml
  7. That's very strange. All the information is translated in this file... I'm not sure why the file wouldn't load:
    CiVUP - Civ V Unofficial Patch\AutoTips\Text\AT - Tips - Language_DE_DE.xml
