These were made for Vehem for his add-on to FfH2. He needed 7 statues to represent Virtues for the Dural civilization so after some searching on the web I came across this page of Auspicious Symbols on Tibetan musical instruments that with a bit of imagination could represent what he was after. I ended up creating the 8th symbol as well for closure. ;) Special thanks to winddelay for telling me how to do gloss and then doing it the right way for me and adding the shadows.

disclaimer - I mean no disrespect to anyone using these symbols.

I would recommend 1.2 fscale, but I used 1.5 on Valor and 1.0 on Courage as I was playtesting them.

Valor - represented by the Conch Shell: (quotes from above link)

viewed as a symbol of heroism; attributes of valor and victory are tied to the rare, right-turning conch.

Courage - represented by the Victory Banner:

symbolic of overcoming adversity and defilement; representative of the Buddha's victory over maras, or evil influences.

Loyalty - represented by the Parasol: (my biggest leap of faith for a virtue/symbol connection)

refers immediately to royalty; the ability to care for one's self; to guard against unknown forces; positive spiritual energy is assigned to this symbol.

Hope - represented by the Wheel:

symbolic of sovereignty, protection and creation; represents motion, continuity and change, forever turning onward like the spheres of the heavens.

Inspiration - represented by the Endless Knot:

symbolic of Buddha's mind, representing endless wisdom and compassion; reminiscent of the cyclic reality of existence.

Purity - represented by the Lotus Flower:

symbol of purity and renunciation; represents the blossoming of wholesome activities; deities are often shown seated on a throne or bed of lotus blossoms.

Glory - represented by the Treasure Vase:

possesses the divine quality of spontaneous manifestation; representative of the treasures one receives upon reaching enlightenment.

And the bonus one, which we'll call Compassion - represented by the Golden Fish:

originally representative of the two rivers, Ganges and Yamuna, which nourish the earth; symbolic of the solar and lunar forces of the universe; represent happiness and spontaneity; fertility and abundance.

The models have turned out brilliantly (especially the Lotus Flower and Endless Knot) and like I said in the PM - that gloss is really quite stunning. Thanks a lot for doing these - I'll start adding them in the morning :goodjob:

I like them, they are nice !

Woodelf, I need a Atlantes_Warrior model ( a statue ) to integrate it as part of a model I already have . I know this has been requested before but nobody made it to my knowledge. I will also need somebody to test it and take screenshots because I cannot run civ atm. I'm going to put the civ in xml now.
